African Policy & Research Consortium

About APRC

A collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing Africa's development agenda through research, innovation, and partnership.

Our Identity

Who We Are

The African Policy and Research Consortium (APRC) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing Africa's development agenda through research, innovation, and partnership. Anchored in the African Union's Agenda 2063, the World Bank's Africa Strategy, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), APRC drives the Africa Think Tank Platform (ATTP) Project — a five-year, US$50 million initiative designed to transform the capacity and influence of think tanks across the continent.

We work with networks of think tanks, policymakers, and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) to address Africa's most pressing cross-border challenges. Our work is centered on six thematic priorities:

  • Economic Transformation and Governance
  • Climate Change and Resilience
  • Regional Trade and Integration
  • Food Security and Agricultural Innovation
  • Human Capital Development
  • Digitalization and Technology for Development

Through three core components — institutional capacity building, research quality and uptake, and long-term sustainability — APRC seeks to create a vibrant, gender-responsive ecosystem that links research to policy, fosters innovation, and strengthens Africa's voice in global conversations.
